Two Arrested in Murder of Elderly Woman in Gulshan-e-Iqbal

Karachi  – East Investigation Police have solved the mysterious murder case of an elderly woman in Gulshan-e-Iqbal by arresting two suspects directly involved in the crime. According to the police, the arrested individuals have been identified as Asif alias Phulla , son of Irshad Masih, and Rehman alias Tiddi , son of Khalid Masih. Both were found to be directly connected to the murder. The incident came to light on April 22, 2025 , when police recovered the body of 57-year-old Afshan Bano , daughter of Saleheen, from Flat No. B-2 in Baradari Apartments, Block 13-D, Gulshan-e-Iqbal . Further investigation is underway to determine the motive and whether more individuals were involved in the crime.

One Dead, One Injured in Horrific Traffic Accident Near Maskan Chowrangi, Karachi

Karachi:  A tragic road accident occurred near Maskan Chowrangi in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area on Tuesday, when an over-speeding Toyota Fortuner lost control, broke through the green belt, and rammed into two pedestrians sitting on the opposite side of the road. According to media reports, the SUV was heading from Disco Bakery towards Maskan Chowrangi at high speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The Fortuner veered off its lane, crashed through the green belt, and struck two individuals sitting on the roadside. One of them, identified as 42-year-old Saleem , died on the spot due to severe head and rib injuries, while the other victim, Zeeshan , sustained serious injuries and was immediately rushed to the hospital. Dog-culling campaign starts in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Karachi

The district municipal corporations (DMC) on Wednesday initiated a dog culling campaign in several parts of the port city. Initiated in Pehlwan Goth and Gulshan-e-Iqbal areas, the campaign was expanded to other localities such as Gulistan-e-Johar, Lines Area and Khudadad Colony where scores of canines were killed by administering poison. Local authorities said that they were ‘compelled’ to start the campaign in the wake of rabies-related deaths and increasing complaints of dog-bites. The unchecked increase in the number of stray dogs and the shortage of anti-rabies vaccine (ARV) led to a rise in the number of deaths caused by the virus.

INAUGURATION OF STADIUM-PARK IN P.I.B COLONY

Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr. Muhammed Farooq Sattar inaugurated newly constructed cricket stadium and Hamid Badayuni Family park in P.I.B Colony on Saturday. City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal, Haq Parast MNA Abdul Rashid Godel, Gulshan Town Nazim Wasey Jalil, Naib Town Nazim Shoaib Akhtar were also present on this occasion. The town administration has completed these projects with a cost of Rs15million. Talking to media representatives on this occasion Dr. Farooq Sattar said that various problems on national level could be solved with the delegation of more powers to city and district government. He said that Karachi is the 12 biggest city of the world and the city is playing its role in developing national economy for which the citizens of Karachi deserve praise. He said that the provision of sports and recreational facilities to people was part of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement manifesto. As the captain of team City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has performed excellent work.
